I was holding the bag from Target as I read the instructions on the new Doodle Pro that Brenna had gotten Kiran that other day. Kiran starts yelling "Target! Target!" You think she knows the red bullseye thing means Target??? Either that or she can read. Except there weren't any words. Oh well.
Jonathan got some peaches from the farm near our house and the lady told him that these peaches would be best for cooking. The peaches that come around the 4th of July would be best for eating as is. But....I've never made anything with peaches before. What would be good to make with the peaches? You can just give me an idea or you can share your secret family recipe if you want.

When we had dinner with our friends a few weeks ago, she sliced them into big chunks and grilled them. They were yummy.
OK...so I have to comment again so I can check the little box. I forgot. :) Since I'm the first, I don't feel too bad.
YUMMY grilled boneless pork chops and a spicy peach salsa- that is one of my dad's special dishes--I think its a Bobby Flay dish--you might be able to find it on the Food Network!
cobbler! homemade ice cream! baked open-faced with brown sugar and nuts! peach cake! smoothies (ok, that isn't really cooking)! peachy glaze on pound cake!
sorry to get so excited. while I don't like peaches raw (they're way too animalistic for me as a fruit... what with the fur and bleeding and all that), I do like them pre-sliced and canned, or cooked into food. have fun!
YUM!! I just bought peaches yesterday and made baby food out of it :) (that was a lot of work btw)...
So, my favorite thing to do with peaches, apples and mangoes is make cobbler... some people think peaches are too sweet, so if you mix peaches and apples it's really good too :)
OK, here it is (best recipe ever)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
TOPPING
¼ c Flour
¾ c Oats
¾ c Brown Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon

Optional – chopped walnuts as desired
Peaches, Mangoes and/or apples (enough to cover the bottom of the pan)
Slice fruit fairly thin to cover the bottom of the pan – depending on the amount of fruit you want.
cook until the top is light brown and crunchy :)
