36 Weeks Nesting

I had an ultrasound yesterday and got to see our (estimated) 6lb 4oz baby girl. She is measuring in the 50th percentile which is just awesome. The ultrasound technician put it into 3D for a little while and we got to see her little hand waving up by her face. We also saw hair on the ultrasound! My blood pressure is good and I'm measuring right on so as my doctor said yesterday- now we just wait for me to go into labor. I have starting swelling some in my legs (not preeclampsia or anything just normal preg swelling) but my right leg is really bothering me. I'm trying to drink lots of water and limit my sodium intake but it would be nice if the pressure wouldn't make me feel like my leg is trying to explode.

I think I've finally starting nesting. Which is good because my mom told me yesterday that I pretty much had been running from nesting. Yesterday my MIL and I took down the boy border in baby girl's room. Today I washed all her little clothes. Tomorrow my parents and Jonathan are painting the room and then 72 hours later I can put up the pink and green border. Saturday Will & Jonathan are doing a big switcheroo with furniture (dresser and day bed coming, office chair and full bed leaving). Things are coming along.

Jonathan just decided we needed to get serious about naming this baby so he's making a spreadsheet!

Ooh fun, a spreadsheet! You could each rate the name on different qualities and do an average and see which name comes up the highest. And then do a graph in baby girl pink. :)

Can't wait to hear what y'all pick out! That's exciting that you're so close. Where's that belly pic at??

Spreadsheet? High tech. While you're at it, I'm sure Jeremy could run some statistical analysis on your top names to help you decide. :)

A spreadsheet? Awesome! I was just going to write and say that Emily would be really excited that you're doing a spredsheet... but she beat me to it :) haha! She's the queen of spreadsheets :)

maybe you could put all the names on a big huge poll and see what people's faves are :) that would be fun!

OK, so is everyone reading my mind??? I totally just came back here to say that you should make a poll or something of names you like (and don't like so you don't give your faves away) and see what everyone likes too :) - but someone totally beat me to it! haha! Smart thinker Tiff :)

I can just see Jonathon working on the spreadsheet now. :) Hope it helps and this little one gets a name before she leaves the hospital anyway. I know you guys will make a great choice, and I can't wait to find out and "meet" her on the blog. Was looking at pics the other day and came across the beach ones with you guys...great times. Miss you!!!

Awesome! So glad Grant is healthy! I also love that pink and green design scheme - can't wait til she gets to make her home there! Enjoy that sweet new nephew...and enjoy nesting!!

spreadsheet huh? you guys sound like us. i like the poll idea but ultimately it is obviously your choice. but it would be fun to see what everyone else thinks.

i love that you guys are making a spreadsheet! it warms my heart. color coded spreadsheets are even better!

I haven't seen the spreadsheet but I've been told it has columns for name, meaning and last year's rank on the social security list.

I'm ok at this point having a couple names we like and just naming her after she's born. We'll see.

Don't do a poll because we might not pick the name that you love. You should just surprise us all. Or name her Merritt. :)

I LOVE that you made a spreadsheet! Mark and I used charts and graphs to name, Nathan, too! (For hints on what to graph: http://mgoetts.blogspot.com/2007/10/type-he-gets-it-honest.html)

I remember the nesting stuff. I think rearranged the baby stuff in our kitchen cabinets 100 times before nathan was born... and we didn't use any of it until he was almost 6 months old! silly mom.

I think the spreadsheet should be just for you and jonathan - you've had lots of suggesttions for names, so I would limit any more outside input. like merritt said, just surprise us when she's born. :)

I loved nesting! My house was so clean! I wish I was nesting again!

I wanted to ask you if you get a chance could you do a post about flying with an infant. I know you did one with some advise, but I was wondering if you had any more advise. I am flying two time in the next two months with Benjamin, and wanted some advise about it. I don't know how much stuff is necessary to bring with me etc. You may not have more advise from what you already posted about, I am just wondering.
