Thursday J & I had some free time so we hit #25 of our 1000 Places to See Before You Die- Savannah's historic district. We took a trolley tour and I'm grateful I didn't have to walk that much :)
J & I returned from Hilton Head on Friday and got to have dinner with my parents and the newlyweds. They are just too cute.
Saturday we spent hanging out with Erin L & her fiancee. They are getting married July 26 and she's asked me to be her matron of honor. So she is praying hard this baby will come early and we'll be able to make the festivities. If you know where I can get a marine David's Bridal bridesmaid dress at the last minute- let me know.
Sunday we went to my aunt & uncle's on Lake Norman to meet my cousin's new baby, Kayleb. He's precious. Kiran loved loved loved playing in the water.
Monday I had my 35 week appt. My blood pressure was 112/70 and the baby's heart rate was good. My belly is measuring 34/35 weeks so everything was fine. I have another ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday.
I know some of you questioned my doctors letting me travel this late in pregnancy. I talked to them a few weeks ago, and they just wanted me to know that if I went into labor, I'd have to stay until the baby was released from the NICU. Of course, they said, at this point in the pregnancy, it probably wouldn't be very long that the baby would have to stay. I've been careful to drink lots of water while traveling and stop every 1 to 1 1/2 hours to walk around.
After my appt, Kiran and I rode to the beach with Mimi. Last night, Kiran & I walked out to the ocean and I had to carry her kicking and screaming away. Today she played in the ocean (the bath!) and the sand all morning. After a long nap, she played in the pool till we made her come out. I think she might be related to the fish- she loves the water so much.

You are so selfish! As a NICU nurse, let me tell you, it's not something to play around with - the baby is NOT ready to come out at 35 weeks. Babies can die if they come out that early, and the reason that they have to stay in teh NICU is because they have trouble with their lungs (because they haven't fully developed) and that they have trouble breathing. By purpsefully having the baby that early, you could potentially harm their lungs for the rest of their lives.
drive a car
dont risk the life or livlihood of you child
don't be selfish
Obviously, whoever wrote that comment did not understand that you were not purposely trying to have your baby early - and they obviously do not know you at all and that you are NOT selfish and care deeply about your precious little baby girl!
YEAH!! 35 weeks - you are in the home stretch now! Good luck these last few weeks!!!
Reading comprehension, please.
She never said anything about "purpsefully" having the baby early.
And don't hide behind an anonymous name either.
I can't believe you're so close to your due date already!! It seems to me that time has flown by since you told me you were pregnant. Does it seem that way to you, too, or does it feel equally as long the second time around? I'd love to see at least one more picture belly picture!
P.S. Anonymous, that was really mean to call someone selfish...especially when you probably don't know Kelley at all. Because then you'd know it's not true.
yeah! I'm with e-rob - we need another belly pic!!!! :) Maybe a compare and contrast from last pregnancy at this time to now :)
That's fun that Kiran loves the water so much :) Whoo hoo!!
e-rob- I'm with you- this pregnancy has flown by!!! I'll see if I can get you and andrea one more belly picture!
I'm thinking anonymous commenter was talking about me wanting your baby to come early! Sorry for being selfish. However, I won't stop praying my little prayer (since it includes a healthy baby)! So ha!
It was great seeing you, and you look so great! I miss seeing you more often, but it's great when we get to catch up! See you soon!!! :)
Kelley,
I'm glad you had a great time at the beach this week. And I'm appalled at the anonymous writer. I've known you for 12 years now (wow!) and I've NEVER thought of you as selfish. Plus, did you even mention anything about flying?
Dear Kelley,
I hope that you have a fab time at the beach this week. You are doing all the right things - checking w/your doctor, drinking liquids, and moving around during your CAR stops. I ditto all of the above - you are definitely not being selfish, and you become less selfish with each passing day that I know you. I love you.
hey kel - I was in a wedding (my dress was clover, sorry!) 10 days before my due date, out of town, and my doctors ok'd the trip, too. They were fine with me bring on the road as long as I wasn't far from a hospital (so no planes or off-the-beaten-path destinations). If you can have a baby in India, you can have a baby in Hilton Head! Travel freely, girl, you've got a good head on your shoulders and I know you love that baby more than yourself already.
Erin L - I don't think I know you, but July 26 is a GREAT day to get married! My baby's b-day.
I hope the wedding goes great and the dress fits and you look gorgeous, nursing her as you walk down the aisle! :)
Sooooooo where have I been? Let me start by saying...
ANONYMOUS= COWARD!
I mean who do you even think you are leaving a post like that on someones blog that you have no idea about? I also would like you to reveal what hospital you work at since I want to make sure I NEVER go there...you have a slight spelling problem which leads me to beleive you are not that intelligent.
My SIL would NEVER do anything to harm her children born and unborn....nor would my BIL allow her to. With that said grow up and try hard to keep your comments to your self its people like you that take the fun out of blogging. OH PLEASE leave me a comment..I would love to meet you and let you know what I really think.
Erin G. - Thanks!! The wedding will be great, but there will be no nursing on the aisle!! I'm glad July 26 has a great history, that is the first thing I've heard about it! Oh, and I LOVE your name!! :)
Hey girl, I am so sorry that someone left you the anonymous comment. I don't think that people realize how bad words can hurt. I know you would never put your child at risk. When I delivered at 34 wks and 6 days the doctors said that the baby would be fine and spend maybe a couple of days in the NICU. As you know OK didn't even spend a minute. I was also told that babies born at 32 wks tend to live healthy lives after a few weeks in the NICU. I think that your doctors knew what they were doing in letting you go.
I am glad you guys had a good time on your vacations.
