Winter Storm Watch

In honor of the Winter Storm Watch that we are under, I thought I would *finally* post a few pictures from our last winter storm. Greenville People- remember when it snowed last month? What? Huh? Oh that's right...it didn't snow there. Hum. Maybe you'll get some of the 3-6 inches this time around.



I found this adorable Lands End snow suit for $5!! at a consignment shop around town. I'm so happy she got to wear it. I hope it still fits...

I really hope he wasn't throwing that at our two year old. Or our baby.

Wiley and Qwenn

Brenna had her babies this morning! There aren't many people I will drive 3 hours round trip to be with on the day they deliver their babies but Brenna is one of them. You can read all about the delivery and updates on their blog.

Riley (or Wiley as Kiran calls her)

I got to go up in the NICU and see these precious babies that have been so prayed for. Years of prayer coming to fruition today. I teared up at the magnitude of today for Geoff and Bren- a day they didn't know if they would ever experience.

Quinn (or Qwenn)

The babies look wonderful. They look perfect- just little miniature babies!

Brenna was amazing as usual. She's quite the overachiever. God has specially made her to mommy twins and its fun to see her in that role!

Who Are You?

I'm not really sure what happened to my girls this week.

Kiran, who has been on a nap strike since November, has taken a 2-3 hour nap almost every day this week. I woke her up at 4pm today after she slept 3 hours and 15 minutes so that she would go to bed tonight! Who are you???
And Sienna has just been....well....happy. She's been so content to just sit and play with toys. When she fusses, I just pick her up and move her to another spot with different toys and she's content once again. Its been so....wonderful. Who are you???

Sunday Tidbits

1. I'm really bad at blogging lately. Sorry.

2. Kiran put herself to bed at 7:20pm tonight. She usually goes to bed around 8. We kept asking her if she wanted to stay up and play a little but she insisted that she didn't. She then spent the next hour getting up out of bed and going potty. Do I consider this a success since we had been working on her getting up to go potty? Or a frustration because she literally went potty 8 times? I chose to be very patient with her so she wouldn't be scared to get up and go potty. But I did stop giving her stickers for keeping her panties dry on the eighth and ironically last trip.

3. Speaking of being scared, Kiran is not afraid of loud potties or big dogs. But the big bubbles I blow with my gum, that scares her. Not the small bubbles or the medium bubbles. Just the big ones scare her.

4. My little baby niece has RSV. My little baby niece that my kids hung out with all afternoon yesterday :) Please pray Sadie would get better and that Sienna would not get RSV!

5. I think Sienna needs her reflux meds upped.

6. My brother and his wife are moving to Asheville and I'm stoked for them. And yes they are moving to the mountains of north carolina after a year of marriage just like we did.

7. We invited our neighbors over for soup night tomorrow night and I'm scared no one will show up.

8. My kids stayed with my sister and her family so J & I could go see Furman take on Curry um Davidson. It was a good game until Curry got hurt. Then Davidson rolled all over Furman. It was very disheartening.

9. My friend Sarah got engaged and that just makes me really happy.

10. That's it. I've got nothing else. Night.

My Eyes

I love going to a new eye doctor. I enjoy watching their face as they examine my eyes and realize what they are looking at.

Today's doctor said, " Well, as I'm sure you already know, you are very unique."

See, I have one eye that's near-sighted and one eye that's far-sighted. (No I can't tell you off-hand which is which.) Most people are either near-sighted or far-sighted. I'm both. Heehee. And we didn't even discover this until I was 18 years old. My brain had learned to use whichever eye it needed to see so I didn't think my vision was bad. It wasn't until I started getting headaches that I went to an eye doctor. The doc made me wear glasses for a year to retrain my brain to use both eyes to see and then I could get contacts.

But for the last year plus, I've been wearing my glasses. I don't have a back up pair or any contacts. So when I dove headfirst into the obstacle course at the inflatables place and landed on my two year old and bent my glasses, I was out of luck.

Hence, today's eye visit. Ironically, this morning I was blowing my nose and I felt something really funny on my eye. It took another blow or two to figure out that AIR was blowing out from the corner of my eye. I told the doctor this too and he just looked at me again and said, "Well you are unique aren't you? Some people have an open connection between their eyes and nose. Rare but not unheard of. The weird thing is that you never felt it until today."

Should I go back and tell him that it must have closed up because I don't feel it anymore? I'm kinda scared of what will happen if I blow too hard.

SE Asia

God is so cool.

J has an opportunity to combine three of his passions in life: Jesus, basketball and Asia.

He's getting to travel to a country in SE Asia as part of a team that was invited to train nationals in basketball. He's going at the end of March. The timing of the trip was perfect for J's work which never happens during the school year!

Its going to cost a lot of money but we are trusting Him to provide. We've already found some leftover Christmas money and have received from our church. J's birthday is at the beginning of March and guess what he's getting? I had some business cards made up for tutoring so if you know someone that needs tutoring (math is my best but I can do almost anything) please let me know. We're open to all sorts of odd jobs to help earn money for J's trip so let us know if you have a need we can fill.

We are really excited that this opportunity just fell into our laps and can't wait to see what all God does through it.

Wednesday Words

• Header. I need a new header for the blog. I was playing around with pictures and left that one of Sienna up. I'd say I don't have time to make one but then I do dumb stuff like watch LOST with Jonathan even though I think its the dumbest tv show ever. So next Wed at 9, I'm making a new header.
  
• Virus. I got a yucky virus last week. My mom had to come take care of the girls on Thursday b/c I was so pitifully sick (Thanks Mom!). And while I got a little better, I didn't fully recover till yesterday. That is a long time to not feel good. It reminded me of being pregnant. Shudder. (disclaimer: I like being pregnant in that I'm growing a child and I think its one of the best parts of being female. I just don't like being sick all the time.) (Another disclaimer: I'm not pregnant. I just had a virus.)
  
• House. My sister and family moved into their new house last week. If you only knew the ordeal it has been for them.
• Computer. Yesterday Sienna grabbed my full bottle of water and threw it all over my laptop! My mouse would move but not click except on the first tab of Firefox and then only sometimes. But I prayed out loud over my computer this morning before I turned it on and it has worked perfectly all day! (Sorry Sienna our plan for a Mac didn't work!)
  
• Clingy. Sienna has been clingy lately and I haven't had any dairy. I don't know what is going on but it wears me out. I just want her to feel good and have a happy babyhood.
  
• Running. Or lack of. I haven't run in 1.5 weeks! I got new shoes, it rained and then I was sick. I wanted to go today so I checked the weather. 32 degrees, feels like 21 degrees. I will not take my babies out in that. Sigh. What to do?
• Tatiana. If I was Eastern European and had a baby girl, I'd name her Tatiana.
