By the grace of God, the perinatologist we know got us in for a Level 2 ultrasound today- a month early. We found out that the boys are indeed identical and sharing one placenta. But we also found out today that they are beginning to have TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). Its a pretty serious condition but we caught it very early and we have some options for treatment. We will go on Thursday for another ultrasound and confirmation of diagnosis. At that point, if we are indeed diagnosed with this, we will have some big, risky decisions to make.
We just need prayers. We believe in prayer. Pray for our boys- that they would both be healthy and strong. Pray for us as we seek wisdom from our Creator and the wonderful doctors He has surrounded us with. Pray for our girls as they don't understand what is going on but they can sense that things have changed with Mommy and Daddy.

Until then... REST and eat Lots of protein!!! (I knew someone as a kid that was going through this and they were supposed to eat a very high protein diet and drink ensure all the time)...

kelley, i have a really good friend who's kids had ttts. let me know if u want to get in touch with her. she also has a blog with her ENTIRE journey. she was also on the news and they showed videos of the procedures. her two baby boys are healthy and oh boy are they cute! praying for you and the twins!
Lord Jesus I pray that you would cover the Caskey family in peace, strength, and assurance that you will take care of them. I ask if it's in your will that you would heal the boys and there would be no sign of this. Thank you for your plan, whatever it is, and please be glorified in this situation. In Jesus' name, Amen

God has done crazier things than delivery healthy TTTS babies with no disabilities. He has a plan for your sons, and it IS the right plan for them. We're praying for peace for you and Jonathan, steady hands and minds for the doctors who treat you, and for the health and strength of your children -- all four. LOVE!!

kelley i sent you a facebook message (b/c my email is being so weird) about a friend in spartanburg who went through the same thing w/her identical twin boys. they are 4 1/2 now and healthy as can be. we are praying for you guys!

Hi Kelley, I am Rachel's friend she was talking about. My boys are 16 months old and were diagnised with TTTS when I was 22 weeks pregnant. We found out on a Monday and had laser surgery by Thursday. Just heard this news Kelley. Lifting you up. My heart goes out to you and my prayers as you walk through this.
My husband Andy and I are praying for you all and the doctors. I know that you have heard this a hundred times, God is in control. He designed these boys and all of this is in HIS hands, He will guide you and the doctors. I learned this when we had problems with our third child. Hey Kelly...I saw your blog via Lindsay Thalingers and wanted you to know that we are praying for yall...I can't imagine all the emotions, thoughts, fears, etc that yall are experiencing right now! You are covered with prayer and so are those precious little boys...God is not a god of disorder but of peace!
