Getting Back on Track

Well the boys are getting back on track. They spent Sat night to Tues morning under the lights. Their bilirubin went down but now it needs to continue to go down even though they aren't under the lights.

Rhys

So now we just need them to eat their bottles and put on weight! Rhys did really well today- nursing good and eating all of his bottles with no trouble. Owen still tuckers out after half of his. Hopefully Owen will wake up soon and start taking all of his bottles or he's going to be left behind when his brother comes home. The only thing worse than have two kids at home and two kids in the NICU is having two kids and a baby at home and another baby in the NICU.

Owen

They really are beautiful and perfect and I cannot wait to show them to the world.

All the noise was getting to Owen

My doctors in Houston called to check on us. They told us that Rhys & Owen were some of the furthest along twins with some of the heaviest weights and closest weights that they'd had. And the nurse said I was only the third person she knew of that was able to successfully avoid a C-section. God just rocked on this one. He gave us abundantly more than we imagined.

Daddy with his future left-handed pitchers?
The nurse took their measurements today- head circumference, abdomen and length- and they were exactly the same in all of their measurements.
P.S. We are looking for a few things- a crib mattress and a changing table pad. Leave a comment or email me if you have one that we can borrow or buy from you if you are done with it. Thanks!

wow, those boys are really starting to look like Caskeys! Rhys especially! Or maybe it's just that picture.

Is it true that with identical twins, they're a mirror image of each other, so one will usually be a lefty? Not sure if that's real science or just an urban myth.

Praying for Owen to eat, eat eat.

oh! I do have a changing pad but I don't know how I would get it to you. I also have a BRU merchandise credit for like $16 that I can mail to you if no one else has one....

just let me know! :)

I have a changing table pad you can have. I will ask BC if she can get it to you. I would've given you Riley's mattress, but I just gave that away to someone else. :(

I have a mattress, but it's OLD--- It will be better than nothing if someone else doesn't have one! :)
Tina may have an extra-- I'm e-mail your blog now, so I'll bet you'll have a good one by the end of the day. :)

There are mirror image twins- and they are identical. But not all identicals are mirror image.

Nikki- yea thanks! That helps so much! We've always had a bed in the baby's room but with two cribs there is no room for a bed in there.

I have a mattress, too! :) I'm not sure how old it is. I can't remember if we bought it or if it is the one Jason's parents gave us...which would make it old. Hmmmm....
I'll check with Jenn and see.

So exciting to read these praises! Praying for you to have BOTH sweeties home ASAP! :)

Kel-I see others have commented about a changing pad, so you might be covered but if not let me know. I am getting ready to get rid of Ashlyn's and I will see Melanie in a week so I can bring it to her!

Good news guys. We'll keep thinking about these little guys. and hey...I know it has to be about difficult but make sure you guys are getting what you need when you can--good meals, rest, etc! We'll ask that they come home TOGETHER!!

Just send Sienna up to visit Owen. She'll teach him how to eat!

Rhys REALLY looks like you in that picture!!!

Jonathan - if the boys are righties you can still teach them to pitch leftie :) Adam is right-handed but his dad only taught him how to bat leftie, so he's a leftie batter :)
