Sienna is getting a tooth! Her first one finally popped through a few days ago after struggling under the surface for two weeks. I'm hopeful there is another just behind it and all that teething fun wasn't just for one tooth.
She's turned into a big girl on me. We play the game "Who is my Big Girl?" and Kiran always answers "Me!" and "Who is my Baby?" is always answered with "Sienna!" But soon I'll have two big girls. Sienna's favorite thing to do is follow Kiran around. She always looks for Kiran first when she wakes from her nap and crawls to her door if Kiran is still in her room. I have to physically remove Sienna from the time out corner when Kiran is serving her time. It just doesn't seem like punishment when your sister is there making silly faces at you.
I asked Jonathan if we should have a theme for Sienna's first birthday party. These are the ones he's come up with so far:
- birthday
- 1st birthday
- Atlanta Braves
- Indian-themed naming ceremony
- Summer is great
- Great Moments in baseball on the 4th of July (Rick Camp)
- My First Prom
We are still negotiating.
Sienna loves to eat a baked sweet potato every night for dinner. She tears into it. I love it. We made progress today in the milk department. I've tried giving her soy formula the last few times I've missed a feeding since we needed to know if she was still intolerant to soy. She didn't seem to have a reaction but got to the point where she wouldn't take the bottle or sippy cup at all- she would just throw it. Today I introduced Soy Milk in her sippy cup- not as a replacement for nursing but in addition to. At first she would drink some, say "Ah" and let it all fall out of her mouth. But tonight's sweet potato was pretty hot so she guzzled some down. I really hope she continues to drink it because J & I leave a month from today for Hawaii and she needs to have some sort of milk to drink while we are gone.

I vote "Indian-themed naming ceremony" or "My first prom." Or, "Dance, Dance Revolution: Bringing it Back."
I can. Not. Believe. she is almost 1. That's a little insane. And how much she is starting to look like Kiran!
Love the sleeping picture, it's precious.
are you totally over pumping?
I'm glad my kid isn't the only one who eats the same dinner every night. he alternates between spaghetti and baked beans. and eats a bagel for lunch. every day. the fact that YOUR kid does something similar makes me feel at least 83% better about the situation.
oh those eyes! you should have a summer party! she can wear a bathing suit and sunglasses and a hat...i think that would be cute!!!
LP You think Sienna can master "Boom Boom Dollar"?
I know you won't understand this Miss Abundant Milk Supply but for the last 3 months whenever I would pump, even if I missed a feeding, I would only got an ounce at most. I quickly ran through my meager freezer stash b/c she was using 4oz and I was only getting 1oz! So yeah I've pretty much given up on pumping.
i love the swimsuit idea. Let her lounge by the pool.
au contraire - I DO understand. I LOATHED pumping and wore I wouldn't do it one day past when he turned 1. And I didn't. At the end, I was getting very meager bottles full as well... 1 or 2 ounces a day, tops.
But you're right - I wasn't worried since we still had a freezer full of milk and a cabinet full of formula (just in case... it's laughable now, but hey -- I didn't know! and I wanted to have it on hand if we needed it)!
Wow almost 1 already! Was it a fast year for you? The pics of her are so cute. Is her hair getting lighter/redder?? I vote swim party too! I'm excited I'm having a summer baby so birthday parties will always be no-brainers for her. :)
OH I vote 1st Prom! Thats fun! sweet pictures.
Definitely my first prom. that would be hilarious.
