Mom Card

So if I didn't qualify for my Mom Card by birthing two babies (one WITHOUT pain medicine) and if I still didn't meet the standards when I bought my mini-van, then I've definitely qualified with my purchase this week.

I bought a swimsuit with a skirt. (My sister is probably falling over about now- she had three kids at 24, is as skinny as she has always been and will never drive a mini-van. Pretty much the opposite of me.)

I had seen this swimsuit online at Land's End but they didn't have my size. I went to Sears because I'd heard they had some Lands End swim suits and they def had it. In my size and in sizes 12 and above. Nothing else. I took it as a sign. Plus it was 30% off. Another sign. So this is my ONE swimsuit for the summer.

(except not in blue- in seafoam green that matches the top)

And...sigh....I love it. I wore it to Kiran's swimming lessons yesterday and I didn't even wear a cover up. I felt like I was wearing a cute little outfit that I could swim in too. So there you go. I'm officially in.

I love my land's end suit. I have not branched out to the skirt...but everyone else will probably wish that I had also made that purchase.
Hope you enjoy it! (A seam popped in mine after I washed it and they replaced it-free of charge. I also love their customer support!)

I love it! did you see the brown one with the circles? I bet you look great in it!
Funny Rhonda and I went to lunch the other day and brought our lands end swimsuit catalog to look at! HA I think that is the same one Rhonda got but maybe there is orange in it

Okay I have been dying to find out what my body is like after having Annabel so I can get a skirted suit too! haha I think the suit looks way cute!

I officially love you a little more today.

Rock it, girl -- if there's anyone who can make this mom thing COOL for the rest of the world, it's you.

also - it's 2 pieces. so it's definitely not frumpy.

I know exactly what you mean entering the MOM world! I got a mini van too (said I NEVER would) and it is the perfect car for a family. I don't have the bathing suit yet, but I am thinking at this point I might have to pull the maternity suit back out for the summer until the weight starts dropping.

excuse me, but suits with skirts are just CUTE! even skinny teenagers wear them (even though, they don't HAVE to, like I do) I will be wearing mine this summer too :) Maternity bathing suit with a skirt no less...go moms!

I have a friend that has that suit and she isn't a mom!! And she looks darn cute in it. I've had my eye on a suit like too; once I figure out this post-pregnancy body I'm headed to Sears! :)

And Kiran has swim lessons -- too cute!

yeah I was going to ask about the swim lessons too.

how is it going? I was thinking about starting Nathan the summer her turns 3 (the "perfect" age based on my own years teaching swimm lessons and lifeguarding), but recently I have been encouraged to start him earlier since he spends so much time at the pool. would love to hear how it's going with kiran.

and... I might just need to go to sears tomorrow. :)

I have a cute suit I got when we were at the states at Target. It's black and white and is a tankini with a short skirt - it's really cute :) I love it. I actually have a couple skirt suits. They were all over Thailand last summer :) I think they'll be pretty popular in the next couple of years :)

This one does have orange in it! Maybe Rhonda & I will have matching swim suits. Online I liked the orange skirt with it but when I tried it on at the store I decided the green one was better. More soothing. Although I really like the color orange. I'm trying to convince J to let me get orange curtains for our den.

So are y'all saying I'm actually in style??? Well, well. That's a first.

Welcome to the club. Glad you joined us, although I feel certain you do not need that skirt, as I do. Actually, I have short bottoms b/c this trunk has too much junk for a skirt.

I had a swimsuit with a skirt before I was a mom. I should see if I could find the email I sent to my friends when I bought it. Pretty funny.

ItsaMomThing- you make me laugh.

I'lldo a post about the swimming lessons ok? Don't let me forget. It may or may not have pictures and it may or may not have video of Kiran crying while swimming.

The swimsuit is way cute. It's definitely not frumpy or too "mommy" but let's you show off your best assets! That's smart swimsuit buying, in my opinion.

Do they have skirts for biker pants? Your dad just left in his new "pants". He's a true biker now!
I love your suit. Let's go swimming.

I was just at the mall and I saw these in person, and they are WAY not frumpy! the skirt is like a tennis skirt, not ruffled or anything. too cute!!

too bad I can't pull it off.
