I will not be listening to any podcasts today.
Last night I dropped our not-even-two-weeks-old computer and it broke. Now windows won't start.
I'm not even kidding. I couldn't make this up if I tried.
(oh and I was attacked by a dog on my first early morning 5K training run. a small dog but a dog nonetheless.)

this is sooo sad. I am sorry!
Are you getting it fixed? Will warranty cover that? I'm super sorry about that and about the dog.
My IT guy is going to look at it tonight. I don't know if drops are covered under warranty.
your day is officially WAY worse than mine.
this, too, shall pass...
You have an "IT guy". Wow, I'm impressed.
My IT guy is named Jonathan and he lives in my house.
It looks like we lost the hard drive but even though it isn't covered under warranty, dell is sending us a new one for free. Way to go Dell. We hadn't backed up in about 2 weeks so we lost some pictures but I realize it could have been a lot worse.
I thought Jonathan the IT guy lived at my house, weird. Awesome that you're getting a new hard drive for FREE! Sorry about the pictures - I take it they are deleted from your camera?
yep deleted from my camera. sad. at least i didn't take any pictures of easter or mother's day so I didn't lose any of those. and i have some of sienna's 10 month pics and yard pics up on the blog so those are still there. I'm sad but it is ok.
Oh good!! I'm glad to read the update in the comments that all is not lost. :)
Now about that dog...we had similar problems in India...someone gave us info that chocolate bark (unsweetened chocolate) gets rid of problem dogs pretty quickly... ;) (no, we never tried it, but seriously were VERY tempted)
you are such a good sport. I cried for like an hour last year when I thought I had lost one DAY's worth of pictures (Nathan's baptism, so it was an important day, but still...). Fortunately my IT guy and his college roomie awesome IT guy recovered the files. And now we keep pics/videos on a SEPARATE hard drive, put the best ones on the internet (webshots) back them up every so often onto a dvd that we keep IN THE SAFE DEPOSIT BOX at the bank.
I wish I were kidding.
anyway, your good attitude about this - as with so many things - impresses me.
OH NO! this is why you need an ipod!
chocolate bark. Funny.
Thanks Erin. The way I see it is I can be really upset over losing the pics or I can be ok with losing the pics but either way...I've lost the pics. And....this isn't the first time I've lost pictures- although the other times have been through losing a camera or memory card!
I know I need an Ipod. I really want an ipod touch so it can double as my planner too but I need finances for one of those first. We shall see...
I'm in love with my new IPOD Nano. It's my running buddy. Well, it was my running buddy. Until I got on my death bed. But I reved it up with new songs last night so it's ready for me when I'm ready for it. Get a pink one.
Kelley
you can use my IPOD..I hardly ever use it and if you are running and training you can use that one.
PS
Its a NANO and it ROCKS...oh and sorry about the dog
