Sunday Tidbits

1. I'm drinking my first cup of hot chocolate. I'm channeling Mom Fitz b/c I have the a/c and the fan on BUT I'm enjoying my first hot chocolate of the season.

2. We are addicted to House. Love it. It comes on every night at 8 on USA which is right when we are helping Sienna fall asleep. The routine is I nurse her then J holds her till she's out and we watch House while we do it.

3. I'm so behind on posts. I haven't blogged about Sienna's dedication, Tara's baby shower, Elijah's story, Furman game, etc. Oh well. I like making lists better.

4. Hugh Laurie should have won the Emmy for whatever he was up for.

5. I accidentally ate a piece of cheese when making Kiran's grilled cheese on Friday. Sienna woke up at midnight with gas. She hasn't woken up before 4am in at least a month. Thankfully last night she slept through till 5 again but man one tiny bite.

6. I miss cheese. And sour cream. And Oreos. But its totally worth it to sleep through.

7. If I can get up and get the dishwasher unloaded before the girls get up, my whole day goes much more smoothly than when I don't. Its amazing how that one thing sets up my day. The worst is when I get up and I go in the kitchen to find that I loaded the dishwasher and put the soap in but forgot to turn it on. Bummer.

I hate it when I forget to turn on the dishwasher! It happens more often than not! My dream dishwasher has the delayed start. Those help my forgetfulness.

My parents love House, too.

So glad you can start having hot chocolate again. I love fall!

does that mean that sienna will have an allergy to those when she is eating?

Isn't it funny that we now dream about dishwashers and such?

Mert- I find it funny that your dad- a dr- likes House. Maybe he should try to incorporate more of House's bedside manner into his practice.

No Sienna's digestive system should mature here in the next few weeks, months and she should be fine. She doesn't have an allergy to it- it gives her lots of gas which makes her quite fussy and wakes her up more. Her system has a hard time digesting the protein in the milk products and something about tomatoes being very acidic. Anyhow...it shouldn't last too much longer. Hopefully :)

I can't that one bite of cheese would do that! Agh!

About the dishwasher, we have the delayed start and Riley will mess with it and all of a sudden it will turn on when you least expect it and freaks me out!

I couldn't believe one bite of cheese upset Sienna either, but since the longest Jordan had slept has been 9 hours and after a day of a lot of dairy only 8 I decided to experiment and ate no dairy yesterday and she went 11! I should have followed your example earlier... it's just that tomatoes, garlic and msg upset her all day and the dairy didn't as much but I guess did hinder sleeping through the night. What is your plan for checking to see if it still bothers her? Thanks for sharing your experiences it has definitely helped us out!

No kidding Sara? Thats crazy. 11 hours- that is amazing! I'm looking forward to those days!!!!

Well my plan would be to check once a month or so just by eating some dairy but I usually slip up by then! The crazy thing is it takes Sienna a good week to get back to happy life after I eat dairy or tomatoes. She's more congested, she's having explosive once a day pooping instead of multiple small ones and she still wants to be help a lot more. BUT she is not nearly as fussy as she used to be so I conclude that its getting better. Let me know how Jordan does!

my mom loves house, too. and she's a doctor too. maybe it's b/c he says all the things doctors are all thinking and only WISH they could say. she said it's more realistic than other medical shows. I've never watched so I can't say if I believe her or not.

hot chocolate???? that sounds like milk AND caffeine. poor sienna. did she handle it ok?

I know Erin- but when I've had a little diet mountain dew the caffeine hasn't seemed to affect her at all and I mixed the mix with water instead of milk so the only dairy was the modified whey in the mix. BUT we had the most horrible sleeping night last. BUT I nursed her at 9 and had hot chocolate at 10 and she woke at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and then 3:30 when I finally nursed her again. So..... I have no idea. I'll prob lay off of it for a while and see. Where did my good sleeper go? I'm like a zombie today.
