I Like to Clean Out

I like to go through my house and throw away, give away, sell items we don't use. So imagine my surprise when going through my medicine the other day and I found this:


You can't really see but on the end it says it expired sometime in oh 1997. yikes. That has got to be toxic.

Then last week I was cleaning out items from the car that we bought from my grandmother. There I found this:



Yes that says EXP June 1994. To be fair, I was not in possession of this until recently. I also learned between the last picture and this one how to use the macro feature on my camera!

This medicine was in the same bag. It expired in 1992. Thankfully my house is not rid of all expired medicines esp those that are at least 10 years past their expiration date.

My dad says expired meds aren't really expired, but I don't think he was referring to 10-15 year old pills.

my mom says the same. I take expired drugs a lot (I'm cheap that way), but I recently stopped myself when I almost took some meds that I KNOW I brought home with me from Germany. In December 2000. Even I have a limit.
