Dang it.

Well dang it. I failed my 1-hr glucose test. You have to drink this sugary stuff and then they check your blood sugar one hour later. To pass it has to be BELOW 140. Of course mine was....you guessed it....140. So now I get to go next week and sit in their office for 3 hours and get my blood sugar checked every hour. So. Much. Fun.

So my question is what is a REALLY good novel you have read lately? I mean Couldn't-Put-It-Down novel. I was in the office for 2.5 hours today and I read John Grishim's Playing for Pizza. It was ok but not exactly thrilling. I'm just going to consider this a short reading vacation that happens to be in the waiting room of my OB.

On the good side, I got to see Baby Girl Caskey today for my ultrasound. I will have one every 3 weeks to monitor growth because some babies whose mommy has Factor V don't grow enough. But Baby Girl is measuring 50th percentile for everything which is fantastic. She was head down with her legs stretched out and she kept punching the ultrasound technician.

Davidson vs Kansas

This is how Kiran watched the Davidson/Kansas basketball game. Ok well that is how she watched about 15 seconds of it.
This is how Jonathan watched the game. The whole game. Maybe we need a bigger tv? I will admit I was right beside him at the end....oh the agony of defeat.

I guess Kiran got bored of basketball and her toys so she occupied herself with her accessories.

Easter Basket

I don't even think we had an Easter basket for Kiran last year. Whoops. Kiran seemed to enjoy finding her Easter basket this year. We didn't really hide it. Did the Easter bunny hide your Easter basket at your house? I remember finding mine in the (not on) oven one time. Another time it was in the dryer. It was always frustrating when the other two found their baskets and you were still looking.

Kiran's favorite part of all of Easter was the eggs. My favorite part of this picture is the little curls sticking from behind her ear.
Play doh and bath toys. Can life get any better?

Happy

I don't think anything makes me happier right now than cooking with my kitchen window open...

Somewhere in there is an interior decorator dying to get out...

Some of my pregnant friends and SIL have been talking about all they have been doing to prepare their new baby's room. HA! I'm still working on Kiran's room. But we have been making progress.

A few weeks ago, J's mom came over and we put up the letters for Kiran's name (translation: Susan put them up and I watched).


Last weekend when Jill was here, we tackled a few more projects. We bought cork squares, covered them with fabric and put ribbon on them for a bulletin board for K's room.

Jill brings out the crafty side of me.

Jill also whipped up this valence. And I mean whipped up. It took her like 5 minutes with an iron and some hot bond stuff. What was that again Jill? She said even I could do it.

And props to my handy husband for putting up the curtain rod.

NCAA Round 1

In the first round of the NCAA playoffs, I lost 6 of my 8 teams. Let's see the rundown.

3 Louisville- won
4 UConn- upset by San Diego which ironically is J's #13 seed. argh.
7 Miami- won. whew.
8 Indiana- lost
9 Kent St- lost
10 Arizona- lost
15 Belmont- lost a heartbreaker to Duke- I couldn't believe how close they came to taking out the Blue Devils
15 American- played Tenn really well but ended up losing

So I'm left with Louisville and Miami. My dad and I are fighting to see which one of us is eliminated from the tournament first. I think first eliminated should at least get their $1 back.

(p.s. J has the most teams left of anyone with 6!)

Meow

I know the video is kinda dark but I hope you can see Kiran's face. Its taken us weeks to get her cat's meow on camera. Its one of our favorite things she does along with the pig- the uh constipated pig. We haven't managed to get that one on video yet but we'll keep working.
