Conversation with Kiran tonight in the car
Kelley: We're getting on to I-26 West. Kiran do you know what the opposite of west is?
Kiran: No. Lest?
Kelley: Its east. What's the opposite of north?
Kiran: South!
Kelley: That's right! Good job!
Kiran: What's the opposite of Texas?
Well....what would you say?

Canada!
haha!! I am giggling so hard right now.
And because I'm Texan, and we Texans are ridiculously prideful, I had to admit a certain amount of pride that she chose Texas for her very strange question. Sorry for being that obnoxious Texan. But YAY for Kiran and her cuteness.
Heaven, of course. :-)
Massachusetts
New York!
I'm with Emily! We Texans are prideful.
My first thought was there is no opposite as it is such a great state--it is a stand alone.
My second thought was Rhode Island.
Kendra I actually thought RI too.
haha! I'm with Jacob!
hey now, i take offense to the heaven comment since I, too, am a Texan :) But i do agree with RI.
I also take offense to Jacob's comment! :) (I'm a native Texan too) My first thought was New York as well - remember the Pace Picante commercial where they were trying to figure out where the bad-tasting salsa was from and on the back it said "New York City" and the hillbilly guys looked at eachother like that was the craziest thing ever!
I think it's hard to find a state that is small, not proud of itself, unfriendly and unhospitable, and very hustle-bustle - all the things opposite of Texas. :)
But if I have to pick one, I'd probably say my mind jumped to Massachusetts.
Also, who knew you had so many native Texans reading your blog! Yee-haw! :)
But there are probably a lot of states that don't think so highly of themselves... ;-)
I thought RI too, and then I realized who Texan that was of me to conveniently forget that we are not opposites with the smallest state since there is a larger state than us. We like to ignore Alaska down here.
Belgium. Definitely.
