Getting There

First off, I passed my 3 hour glucose test. Whew. I was really worried once I failed the first hour of the three hour portion (You can fail one and still pass). Evidently my body doesn't like to process sugar quickly. Or maybe its just those yucky drinks. Anyhow, I'm so thankful I don't have gestational diabetes.

Today we had an ultrasound and a fetal echoccardiogram. During the whole process, the boys were like this:

Those are their two heads- forehead to forehead. I think they are already planning mischief.

Everything looked normal today and I'm not showing any signs of labor soon but for some reason, it hit me today that these boys could literally be born any day. They could be 2009 babies. Labor can come on so suddenly. I don't know if its because we were talking about survival rates (80% now although usually with lifelong problems at this gestational age) or because Michelle Duggar had her baby last week. She was due one week ahead of me. I think a lot of it is because I had a dull backache all day which was one of the preterm labor signs I have to get checked out. For whatever reason, I finally realized that these boys could be on their own timetable. I'm not ready for them to be born. I'm not ready to not be pregnant any more. I hope they will hang on until at least February.

One day at a time...

A parting wave from Rhys

Glad to hear you don't have gestational diabetes! And definitely thinking about you and the boys and that they will stay put a lot longer! I know it wasn't with twins, but I had a lot of preterm contractions and even a preterm prelabor incident (that I realized in hindsight). I know doctors are different in Asia, but my doctor gave me some medicine (something that is usually used with asthma but I don't remember what it was called) to take when I started getting too many contractions. I tried to really pay attention to the contractions I had and timed them to see if they got regular or if I had too many in an hour. I would get contractions whenever I stood up for too long. I would definitely be really in tune with your body and pay attention to any of the signs...like the lower back pain you had!! We are thinking about you!!

Hi Rhys! :)
I love all the ultrasound pics. That IS really weird to think they might be 2009 babies. You could claim them on your taxes! :) (But of course we are praying they stay put til Feb)

the duggars had their baby? how did I miss that? that's SCARY. they have one daughter who's almost exactly Nathan's age, and Josh's baby is almost exactly Anneliese's age. Weird.

I am SO glad you don't have to worry about diabetes on top of everything else. And I am definitely praying for 2010 babies!!!

Wow! It's going by so quickly. Maybe not for you, but they will be here soon enough, won't they?!
