Tonight I went on a date with my husband! A much needed date as the past few days have been stressful in the Caskey Casa. I must have eaten something (maybe at the wedding???) because Sienna has been very high maintenance. She doesn't want to be put down. I drove to High Point on Saturday because sweet Katie got married and it was wonderful and worth it and I'll blog about it later when people(Merritt, Sarah, Erin) send me pictures. But I got home at 12:20am and Sienna was up a lot and I was exhausted. I took two naps on Sunday. Kiran has just been whiney and defient and all that. So we called in the reinforcements and got us a break.
So I went on a date....and I wore my regular khaki pants! Not maternity pants!! 5 months, 3 days. I won't mention how I was back in my prepregnancy jeans 17 days postpartum with Kiran. First pregnancies and second pregnancies are different. So is being pregnant in India and being pregnant in America (watch out Emily!). Anyhow...I'm proud to be back although I still have more weight I want to lose. The running has been working. I'm keeping a running log on the sidebar. I don't care if anyone notices it because its very motivating for me. I also put smiley face stickers on my calendar every day that I run. It motivates me too.
I've been working on putting our lights on the Christmas trees and I didn't even finish getting them all on when one of the strands burned out. Sad. Now I'm unmotivated to finish.

woo hoo on the pre-pregnancy pants! you are so right - 2nd (or 3rd pregnancies are so different than the 1st!). keep up the hard work though, it will pay off with more energy and confidence. hang in there!
several thoughts:
1.) it was definitely the ravioli, it had a cream sauce. yummy for us, not for sienna. did you eat any?
2.) I did not have my camera and am also waiting on pictures from merritt or betsy (who texted me today with a promise of soon to come, so we'll see). sarah has pics on her camera from like a year ago so I'll be happy for hers whenever they come, but I'm not counting on that being soon! :)
3.) where did you go on your date?
4.) I know you're a career mom for now, but you are still SUCH a teacher. stickers on the calendar? the prrof is in the pudding.
5.) I forgot to tell you on saturday, but you look rockin' awesome, and I'm sure you looked hot in your non-maternity khakis. either the running, or the nursing, or something, is looking good on you.
6.) J can put up the lights. That's totally a hubby job anyway.
And I forgot to say that I measured my hair and its 9 inches long so only 1 more inch to go before I cut it all off!
I did not have the ravioli or the salmon since they both had cream sauce. It was prob the icing on the wedding cake. YUM. We went to Tavern Grill- a local sports bar/grill place and then we Christmas shopped at the mall. Thanks for the compliment- its the running. The nursing quit working after only 2 months! (for weight loss purposes)
Jiggle the strand that's out. It's probably just a loose bulb or bad connection. Can't wait to see your tree!
Love, MOM
My mom is the Christmas Tree Light QUEEN! She put 2700 lights on her tree this year and she hasn't finished! She had to go get more! I'll go jiggle it Mom.
yay for no maternity pants! I thought I was going to be in mine forever! The Indian C-section is a little higher than the American one... and it hits right where the low-rise pants hit... which was all that I had - man! did it hurt!
I started running too (I only do it 3 days a week but I forgot today - oops!)
:P
Oh girl, don't scare me any more! I've already noticed a big difference - in India, when morning sickness hit, all I could do was curl up in a ball. Here, when the only thing that sounds good is Sonic's tater tots, well, I go get some. And then some more. I can already tell it's adding up!
You should post a pic of your cute slim self!
Yeah! I got into a pair of pre-Zion pants the other day and was SO excited! I've finally gotten off 2 kids in under a year weight with Isaac at 8 months! And I put on my favorite pair of J. Crew khakis (which I got on a serious sale) that I got after Zion and have been wearing for awhile now and they are too big! Sad for me, now I'll have to find another serious sale for a smaller size, but yeah for getting ride of baby weight!
