So..... seems like we got us another fussy baby. Kiran was fussy but not to the point of colic. Sienna however seems well on her way to colic. The biggest problem is that she is very hard to get to sleep and she will only stay asleep if someone is holding her. Thankfully she will *usually* sleep in the wrap. I honestly don't know what I would do if she didn't. Anyhow.... she's not screaming anymore after we got over the stomach stuff. She's just fussing. Almost all of her awake minutes. BUT we're only a month away from peak fussiness and by November this should all be past. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I feel very alone having a fussy/almost colicy baby. I don't know if people don't talk about it or if I truly am alone. Sometimes it seems as though there is some big Mommy secret out there that I don't know about how to have a calm baby. If you have an easy baby, I'm sincerely jealous. If you have a fussy baby, I feel your pain.
And we're accepting volunteers to come over and hold our baby.

I plan to hold her a lot in a few days! However, you're on your own about 2:00 Saturday :) Prayin' for you!
Oh, I SO wish I could come hold your beautiful, fussy baby! Maybe in October? Pencil me in...
I can't come hold the baby, but I'm glad that she calms down some of the time in the wrap. Sounds like you may just be spending a lot of time wearing her. We are thinking of you!
I'll make a deal with you...I will come and hold your baby and you buy my ticket to come and put me up in the Caskey Casa...does that sound like a fair enough deal. I will even throw in babysitting kiran also to seal the deal!
Miss you. I am back in America now.
I'm coming in August. That's practically tomorrow, right?
I wish she were a calm baby, but know that you are doing what you need to do. You are the perfect mom for her, even when she is still fussing and doesn't realize how great she's got it.
Y'all are great. You must have been praying b/c last night Sienna slept in her bassinet for 2.5 hours! That's 1.5 hours longer than she's ever slept in there and about 2.45 hours longer than normal.
alicia- I got some united miles that are going to expire in october if I don't use them. you want to come???
I can relate a little to you, Kelley. theEdge isn't fussy during all of his awake time, but he is most definitely a momma's boy. He will fuss for my mom, for B, or anyone else for that matter. But once he is with me, he is fine. He likes to be rocked to sleep and sleeps better when someone is holding him. I don't know if we've conditioned him to be that way(probably) or if he is just like that. It can be frustrating b/c it doesn't give me much time alone since I'm the only one that can really soothe him. But, like you, I know this too shall pass.
I guess both my babies have been high maintenance.
I do feel your pain for sure. My E was way fussy for the first 4 months or so. It's hard but you can do it.
We are praying for you too! I feel ya...Ashlyn was not colicky but like clock work every evening as soon as Jonathan got home from work she would fuss until we finally got her to bed. We would walk through the house singing and we have a excercise ball that we would bounce on...worked great. Rocking didn't do anything. She will settle in soon and hopefully you will get some rest!
so sorry she is so fussy, i know that is incredibly tiring. wish we were closer and could come take a turn! :) have you tried simethicone drops for infants? available over the counter at Target/Walmart. basically tums for babies and super safe. made a big difference for us and as for others as well - worth a shot if you haven't tried them yet... love you guys and praying for you!
would i want to come?! Of course i would want to come!! Let me know!!
you need to find some mom message boards and read about dussy babies. they won't teach you any new tricks you don't already know... but at least it won't feel so lonely. hang in there, in a few weeks when she smiles at you it will be totally worth it. :)
Schlee- she has loved bouncing on our exercise ball! Thanks for the suggestion.
We have had a little success with the gas drops sometimes. We'll take it.
Hazel was colicky. It's ROUGH, and I'm really sad for you right now that you're going through that. I had to take EVERYTHING out of my diet, it seemed, and it helped a small amount. And then of course the Happy Sauce (aka Colicaid) I'm not sure if they sell it here, but maybe you could get someone in India to mail it to you in a brown envelope. They're really small. Here's praying Sienna's tummy matures very quickly!
I want to come hold her too! I am actually going to be in Spatanburg Labor Day weekend.. (Random event that I will explain later). Ya'll may have holiday plans, but I would love to see ya'll. I will send you a message with more info...
*Spartanburg (i spelled it wrong. :))
