Chunker

Sienna had her one week dr's appt today. She's 9 days old and she weighed 8lbs 6oz at birth. Today she weighed 8lbs 15oz! Her dr said well that's impressive. The goal is for exclusively breastfed babies to be back to their birth weight by two weeks old. Oh Sienna.... she's gained a pound since we discharged from the hospital last Monday.

Kiran thought Sienna wanted to play with her baby dolls

Well, Kiran, Sienna & I survived our first day home alone. The morning was stressful. But after successfully lowering my expectations of how an almost-two-year-old should act when having a new sibling come into her life, the afternoon was much better. Plus Not-Aunt-Lauren came to visit!

Go Sienna!!!
Aashini is quite the chunker too! She's in the 95 percentile!
Sienna has the best cheeks!

That's crazy, but it sounds like she has figured out the eating thing! YEA! You may be right...Jordan and Sienna may be about the same size right now! When I read your comment I was thinking, no that can't be she would have lost some weight since she was born! But I was wrong! However, I have no clue how much Jordan weighs so it's just a guesstimate. When Jordan got weighed a week ago she had one of the fullest diapers ever on!

Way to go Sienna! I agree with Andrea - her cheeks are the best! She'll love looking at pictures of herself when she's a teenager! Keep the pictures coming, it's so fun to see y'all going through such similar experiences as we are.

She is precious!! (EB was 8lbs 13oz when she was born - and with a ton of dark hair too!) Thanks for the info on activities - I will try your activity suggestions - and look for that book! Good luck with these toddler/newborn days!!!

Nathan was like that when he was born too (heavier than his birth weight at 1 week) - but now he's in the 5th percentile. So anything can still happen - she might be tiny like kiran after all!

I had to laugh when I read that it took you a whole morning to follow your own lower-the-expectations rule. I wish you knew how often I recite your words in my head! I'm sure it will only be more often as toddlerhood approaches for real. hang in there, they'll get used to each other.

SAR - if aashini is in the 95th, and Nathan is in the 5th, and she's 3 months younger than him (4 months younger, gestation age, right?)... then they're probably the same size! if they ever meet, she'll knock him down! :)

That's so sweet that Kiran wanted to share her baby dolls with Sienna. Does she like to hold her ever? You'll have to let me know how a toddler behaves around a newborn, because I'll need to have lower expectations when we have a second one, too. (no, that's not an announcement :)

I wish I could cuddle Sienna! I am loving that hair.

Yes Kiran loves to hold Sienna. But when she's done holding her, she just lets go so you have to act fast!

Kiran has been great around the newborn- she's learned not to touch her eyes EVER, not to run over her, not to kick her in the head. Kiran just forgot for a few days how to do anything by herself like carry a toy to the toy bucket or walk down the steps. Thankfully she's remembering those things again.

Those are the cutest little fat cheeks! Isaac is just getting some and he's nearly 4 months old. Kiran will get back in the groove again, don't worry! And sometimes she'll forget about what to do with the baby too...I've found Micah with blanket over Zion and Isaac's heads when they were little!! Just trying to share!! Ha!

Those sound similar to Oliver's stats!! Chunkers are fun though!
