Big Lots

I didn't know there were so many things in Big Lots I need.

I went to Big Lots for only the second time in my life last week. The first time was when KT took me in Boone a few years ago. Anyhow, I heard they had good prices on storage containers and I'm getting to ready to make a hefty storage container purchase to get us or-gan-ized. But I digress. I walked in and the employees were rearranging the furniture and I thought, "People actually buy furniture at Big Lots?"

I got suckered in to the Christmas half-off sale. For the record, I got 9 rolls of Christmas wrapping paper for $5 and a welcome mat for the door. That was it. For the Christmas sale. While we were in there, Kiran wanted to put everything in her mouth. I kept telling her that we were past the oral stage but that didn't seem to stop her. Finally I stuck my finger in her mouth and discovered her top two molars had just broken through and her bottom two were bulging. That explains a lot about the last few days.

AND I found this nifty sponge holder for my kitchen sink that I was drolling over at the container store website the night before. I came home and did all these hand wash only dishes we had stacked by the sink. I think it was due to my energy returning.....Nah it was totally due to how much I enjoyed putting the sponge back in the sponge holder after washing every dish.

anyone hungry? for potatoes?

Is she my daughter or what?

Story About Big Lots furniture: One weekend after a Clemson game we stayed with Dustin Hughes' parents in Seneca. Well his mom has amazing taste and changes furniture like most people change underwear. Their budget certainly doesn't require shopping at Big Lots. Anyway, at breakfast I said, "I love your new kitchen table." She laughed and replied that she had gotten at Big Lots. Anyway, so the first furniture we have bought as Mr and Mrs Magner was a kitchen table from big lots. We don't have it anymore b/c it didn't match the style of our house, but my mom bought it from us and it still looks great in her kitchen. I also got a really cool lamp that is in our living room now. I guess you just never know. :)

WE LOVE BIG LOTS!!! There are a few that are better than others--I mean that in the cleanliness status! That is where I got you that HUGE bag of .25 baby food when you first came back for Kiran-I went the other day after 2 trucks had come in and there was noone in the Greer one--IT WAS GREAT!!! Sometimes timing is key also--THe one on Rutherford is good and the greer one is not bad but the best one in GVEGAS in on Woodruff its HUGE! Fun -Now I will forward you my coupons when I get them -...now that I know you are a fan!
Cute pics! HEr hair is really coming in--FUN times I think its time for some bows!

Annie- you are not the only one who buys furniture at Big Lots! The furniture section was huge! I think it just surprised me- I would have never thought to look there for furniture. Maybe now I will :)

I've tried the bows a few times and she rips them out in .2 seconds. Every time.

wow, you didn't even get the containers you went in for?

I came very close to buying a big lots glider and ottoman from big lots this summer. but then I saw someone was selling ito n craigslist. so I bought the big lots chair, secondhand. Yes, I am that cheap.

you know i can't say that i have been inside a big lots before. i think i have a perception of them, that they are gross and dirty, therefore i don't want to shop there. however the commercials that were on at christmas, made me think again about shopping there. i'm still not convinced that they big lots and walmart stores that they feature in commercials really do exist. i think they are fake. how about you? target though- target is legit. i love target!
