Dr Appt

Today we went to Maternal-Fetal Medicine to determine if I needed to take shots of lovenox throughout the pregnancy to protect me from blood clots. We were pleasantly surprised when we were ushered in for an ultrasound! We saw our baby, measuring perfectly at 10 weeks. The little arm was even waving at us! The heart rate was 167 and everything looked good.

We then met with the dr and went over our options. We were both really impressed with him. He gave us information- benefits and risks of both treatment and no treatment and then basically left the decision up to us. With his guidance, we've decided to not do any shots unless circumstances change like I need to go on bedrest or something like that.

So basically today's appt was great! Bonus ultrasound and no shots! Woohoo! Tomorrow I get to see my regular OB.

I bet it's weird going from India, where you get a ton of ultrasounds, to the US where you get one or two, huh?
So when the time comes, are y'all gonna find out if Baby is a boy or girl?

Yeah its different coming from India to the US. Although so far I'm only 10 weeks and I've had two ultrasounds so that has been nice.

Its weird because its not my first pregnancy but it kinda feels like it since its the first one here.

Yeah I think we'll probably find out...unless someone can convince us otherwise.

Which doctor are you seeing? (I only ask because everyone in the Spartanburg area seems to see one of two people. I don't need a reference or anything!)

The dr I saw on this post was the Maternal-Fetal medicine guy at the hospital but I won't have to see him again (barring anything unforeseen). Otherwise, I'm going to the Woman's Clinic.

yeah, but with all those ultrasounds in India, they STILL wouldn't tell you Kiran was a girl. this will be different, I assume.

Find out!! I want to know!!
