I was doing an exercise and it said to name your three favorite movies and find the common theme between them.
So
1. 10 Things I Hate About You
2. Remember the Titans
3. Sound of Music
Besides having fantastic soundtracks, what common themes do these three movies have in common???

Oh, I LOVE Remember The Titans AND I love Julia Stiles. Great choices! As for the connection, I think b/w the first and second, it shares the common theme of judgment on people. As for the last one, I can't help since {gasp!}, I've never seen Sound of Music :0
I almost spit out my cereal when I read that you haven't seen the Sound of Music! We should def remedy that. Just drop by my house nearly any day of the week.
When the TV is on, it's either Spy Kids or SportsCenter. What can I say? My boys don't embrace musicals. Ooh, but I will have them alone one week this summer when Dallas is away at Kids Camp - maybe I'll bribe them with banana splits and expose them to some Julie Andrews melodies. Or maybe I'll start out with 'Grease' and cover their eyes and ears through all of the many inappropriate scenes.....HA!
My first thought was - the good guy/girl wins.
My quick off the cuff common themes:
1.) People start off being angry/judging and then find ways to love instead.
2.) Families come in all shapes and sizes but can always be counted on.
3.) Um, who doesn't like a good sentimental cry at the end of a movie?
4.) The soundtrack thing is totally legit.
5.) Wow I just used my english major skillz in the weirdest most random way today. :)
Yeah, I just don't see a whole lot of connection! There might be a few stretches, but those are just totally independent movies in very different categories if you ask me! :)
I think there might def be something to the people aren't always as they appear theme/getting past prejudices them...
