Everyone Should Read: Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore Seriously. You should read this book.
Most Challenging Spiritually: The Unexpected Adventure by Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg- inspiring and challenging all at the same time
Book That Caused Me to Eat Better: In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan- Real food stuff. Good info.
Book I’ve Checked Out From the Library So Much That I’m Actually Going to Buy It: The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease- should be required reading for every parent
There you go. Now its your turn to recommend the best books you’ve read lately so I can put them on my 2011 Books to read list!

Well I would suggest Radical, but I see you've already read it. I'm not reading (by CD) The Hole in Our Gospel, and it's so far really good too.
Have you read Crazy Love? I just got around to reading it even though it's been out for awhile and it rocked my world.
Also, Laura Bush's autobiography was wonderful. I'm not usually an autobiography kind of reader, but she kept me interested and inspired. I'm working thru George Bush's auto and I'm enjoying it too.
I'm so glad you liked Quo Vadis and Same Kind of Different as Me. Loved them too!
In Defense of Food is on my list to read. I think I just got in over my head with his other book; it was so long and got boring to read fast.
Have you read Gone With the Wind? I just read it for the first time and adored it. I'm also stuck on the Outlander series; just finished book 5. They are a bit, umm, cleaner, after the first one. Still lots of sex though.
Just read Einstein Never Used Flashcards and really liked it; lots of psychology about learning.
Have you read Memoirs of a Geisha? Loved that. Animal Vegetable Miracle is good too about food. The Guernsey Literary Society and Potato Peel Pie Society is darling. What about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn?
Okay, I'll stop.
The Way of Boys...~Rao
SUN STAND STILL~Steven Furtick
Respectable Sins~ Jerry Bridges
Unbroken~ Laura Hillenbrand
1-2-3 MAGIC effective Discipline for children 2-12~Phelan
Emily- not an hour after I read your comment, someone in real life mentioned The Hole in Our Gospel. I must need to read it.
Jenn- I have listened tot he first chapter of Crazy Love- I have it on my computer. I don't really have a chance to listen anymore so maybe I'll pick up the hard copy. And the bios.
EMU- thanks for all your suggestions! I read GWTW in 2004 and Memiors in 2001. I'm pretty sure I'm the one who told you to read AVM. I'm still not sure if I'm ready to give Outlander another try- that first one just was too much for me. I'm def putting Einstein and Guernsey on my list- I tried a Tree in Brooklyn once but I don't think I had enough time to give it a fair shot.
Beth- thanks lots I haven't read!
Have you read Have A Little Faith by Mitch Albom. I would be interested in what you think of it. My Mom would have loved it. Wonderful book.
I just really started reading a lot after Corban was born and I've even created a 10 year challenge if you see my bloggo and a page about what I am reading this year. I see some good recommendations on your blog that I will try out. I'm reading Same Kind of Different as Me right now. Have you discovered goodreads.com? It's a fun little website where you can keep track and "shelf" the books you read, want to read or are currently reading. Sort of like facebook for nerds. You can then link it to your blog and it will update. Sorry to be so wordy :)
Deb- I was hoping you would comment. You always give me great recommendations. I have not read that one my Mitch A.
Trish- EMU just made me sign up for GoodReads. I'll put the widget up soon- and find you on there!
How to Read the Bible for All it's Worth by Fee & Stuart
(they also have another one that I just got and have read a little in called "How to read the Bible Book by Book")
I would say Radical too but I see that you've read it...
Most of the books I've read lately (other than a bunch of David Baldacci books - he's my fave fiction writer - I've liked almost all of his books - I can tell you the ones I didn't like if you're inerested) have been about South Asia... not sure if your'e inerested in any of those :)
