I finally figured out why I like cloth diapers so much.
I’m lazy.

Seriously. L-A-Z-Y. It takes so much time and effort to buy diapers, repeatedly, on sale with a manufacturer’s coupon AND a store coupon. As long as I don’t leave any cloth diapers outside overnight accidentally so that the…. stop not going there ok as long as nothing unusual happens, I have all the diapers I will need. For disposables, I have to keep replacing them. Cheaply. Because we don’t have the kind of money to just run to the drugstore and buy diapers for 3 kids every time we need them. Holy cow that would be like a mortgage payment. At least down South- maybe not in DC eh Merritt?

So anyway- most people need more diapers, they go buy diapers. Me? I need diapers, I just throw them into the washing machine. Its like never more than 20 feet away in this house.
I know I just shared this one but I had to include it on my post about cloth diapers! Owen Sienna Rhys June 10
Anyhow, I am not addicted to cloth diapers like some of my friends coughErinGahemErinH but I’m glad to know why I like them so much. And they totally save the planet too.

I know! Just yesterday I was with a mom who was freaking out because she was down to her child's last diaper and really needed to run to town to get more. She had to prder her day around buying diapers. I've never had that problem thanks to our CDs! :)
Too cute those little ones are! Still waiting on myt TTTS survivors to meet your TTTS survivors! :)
So true. It's much easier to throw diapers in the wash than it is to run to Target. Which is what I am about to do since somehow I only have 3 left to last the rest of today and tomorrow. Whoops. (Also true about the mortgage payment comparison. Boo.)
after 3 wks on the road, it was good to catch up on you guys thru the blog. the boys are growing so fast and i love the diapers pic! and the one u and R took of the family fun - hopscotch, huga hooping etc :)
love you guys!
Question: Do you really just throw them in the washing machine? It is that easy? What about the, um, solid waste? I don't have children, but I feel like I can certainly educate myself on this topic as much as possible before they get here.
Emu I have been that mom too many times.
Yes when they are solely breastfed, you can just throw them in there. When they start eating solids and their poops reflect that, you just shake or roll off the solid part into the toliet then wash. I have had to use my diaper sprayer a few times and that is not fun.
addicted? guilty as charged. :)
You're SO right that washing is easier than sale-hunting and coupon-clipping and rebate-mailing (I was one of those moms who refused to pay more than about $6 per pack -- still more than cloth though).
Plus... THEY ARE SO SO STINKIN' CUTE!
when i have a baby, that's the way we're going. So thankful we threw you that baby showe. I learned so much!
