My father-in-law sawed off the letters spelling Grant in the third bedroom this week. We've got a tiny bit of patching to do and then painting and it would be nice if we had a name to put back up in that space. Unfortunately, Jonathan & I can't seem to find any names that we both like :)
So I'm asking you for help. I'm not asking for YOUR names that you want to use for future daughters. Just leave us some name suggestions for our baby girl.
Last time we did this, Adam & Andrea found the name Kiran and left it for us and we knew that was it. So I'm hopeful this will work again.
What is our baby girl's name?

Naturally Leigh would be great. But, if there was one name I would love to use yet Jonathan doesn't agree upon that would be Emory...
WE always thought you guys loved Sam? No? Okay here are a few that we think you guys sound like the parents of:
Grace
Caroline
Anna ( but you might have to double name that one) but again names we think you 2 sound like the parents of....of course we love Kiran's name and think its PERFECT! SOOOOOOOOOOO even she is Gertrude or Guadeloupe we will love her anyways cause you picked it and had a reason for picking it! Sorry not much help am I? I do enjoy reading the names so I hope lots of people play your little game. Jordan says that if you Grace then you will probably be mad you took the " GRA" down off the wall..so I guess thats out!
Hi,
I found your site and thought it was really neat.
Sorry to 'barge in' on your post but I love the name Anna or Ana for a girl (both can be pronounced Ana with the long Ah-nah). Just my 2 cents. Take care, Gracie
here are a few to ponder - kiera or kiara. alana or aliana. ariana. or drop the initial a's from all those. maya (my-ah). faith. can't believe name-hunting days are finished for us... :) i know whatever name u guys choose will be perfect for your precious little one!
hindi names
Kalini - means flower
Kalya - praise
**Karis - grace / graceful (greek)**
(this one is my fave)
Kenzie - light
Kaelyn - pure
Jaelyn - light
Alieen / Elieen - light
July :)
Summer :)
Jaden
I'll keep looking :)
Kiran was born in India, so she was given an Indian name. So...maybe Carolina?
Other girl names I love that James would never go for: Stella, Juliette, Layla or Leela, and Anika (which is a multi-national name, including Indian), and Nadia.
I love names! I can't wait to hear what y'all choose.
Oh and I also like Annabelle. :)
I keep thinking Caroline, too... but Carrie Caskey? Might be too much. What about Ashley? or is that too 90s? Grace is close to Grant - it might be the easiest thing to cover up on the wall, and with a 2- or 3-syllable middle name, it would be beautiful.
We did talk about the name grace before we took down the gra...
You guys have given us some good names (and some interesting ones- July???) to think about. Thanks! And if you think of anymore just let us know.
If you want to stay with a "K" name:
Kaia - Hawaiian - "ocean"
Kailani - Hawaiian - "sea and sky"
Kefira - Hebrew - "lion cub"
or
Jolie - French - "pretty"
Hadassah - Hebrew - "myrtle tree"
Ella Grace
Annalise
Anna Claire
Madison
Madeleine
I also like Evelyn or Eve. And I second Summer. :) I actually like Summer a LOT, but I don't like names ending with the beginning letter of the last name (to me it sounds like one long word...I know, I'm weird) so I would never choose Summer for us. And it's a stretch but Hadassah (meaning Myrtle tree) is the Hebrew for Esther, so Esther would have a SC connection since there is Myrtle Beach. Hey...I admit it's a stretch. :) Or you know, you could always go with Myrtle. ;)
James says Jamie. :)
And Esther was one of my grandmothers...
e-rob, I TOTALLY agree! I would never pick a name ending in a K sound, since that's (sort of) the sound my last name starts with. Apparently my in-laws didn't care, though, when they named their sons Mark and Nick. But Caskey would have the same problem with either of those names...
Myrtle Caskey. I think you might be on to something there Em.
I'm with you guys on the K sound- Eric Caskey. No. I'm also picky about the sing songy names like Callie Caskey or Casey Caskey (or my own name :) ). No gos.
So, I've been wracking my brain, but any good names I come up with end up on my own "future girl names" list. :) Except Evelyn. I love that name, but it's definitely out says Brett. And Hadassah has always been a favorite, but that's another one we won't have.
I mean, don't you want another KEC? All the same initials? Oh, wait, that's just my crazy family.
duh...Miriam!
Since we're done with kids I think...some girls names I like and that we brainstormed for this baby are:
Moriah--"The Lord is my teacher"
Trinity
Andi
and Asia.
I really think Asia would make a beautiful girl's name.
Adam's mom always wanted me to name Aashini either "Asia" or "India" but living here that would be pretty funny :)
I still really like Karis :)
Kerala :)
I'm still thinking :)
or
Karma - haha! Just kidding :)
Eden DELIGHTFUL
Ellie LIGHT
Nora THE BRIGHT ONE; LIGHT
oh, and I like Carolina al lot :)
I'm leaning away from another K name unless its something we just absolutely fall in love with. Sorry Milt & Deb I'm not into Mike, Matt, Merritt and Marty or Michelle, Megan, Margaret and Monica. Why is it the families I know that named all their kids the with the same letter chose the letter M?
Okay, so I totally dropped back by to suggest Norah (or Nora) and Andrea beat me to it! I got to thinking that name was really pretty last night. And I looked up the meaning this morning and it meant "Light" or "Woman of Honor" depending on whether you derived it from the Greek or the Latin. Both great.
I also like Delia. Different but pretty. No clear meaning though...possibly "heart".
I think Andrea likes names that mean light!! Don't Aashini and Kiran both mean that?? :-)
Nora is really pretty and it has good meanings! Kiran does mean "ray of light"
What does Aashini mean? Something about lightening??
Yup - Lightning :) (as in Thunder & Lightning - not Lightening as in to Lighten a load or that thing in pregnancy - haha!)
Light names are cool!
